February on a Greek island

February on a Greek island is a time of fresh beginnings....it is a cold month, this is not the tropics...but it is "the rainy season" here...it is when things will grow. This is when the farmers till their fields...such as they are, on this barren rock of an island.

One of my sons just brought me wild flowers! Still, the heaters are on... you must wear layers. Everything is "damp"...the windows sweat...the stones are slippery with moisture. The cats want no part of it... No, they'd rather be on my bed.

The weather forecast is for temperatures between 5-12 degrees...still, that is Celsius, not Fahrenheit...So it is cold...but not like the Northern US...or Canada or Sweden...it's a sort of uncomfortable, but bearable chill.

We have a small boat, and my husband has just announced that we are "setting sail" in about an hour...just a little family outing...a short cruise. My husband is always up for an adventure, as long as it's not raining, or too windy. I've become much less adventurous since my health problems...still, I do my best to participate willingly, and cheerfully.
